Dear Queen of Peace Families,
On behalf of everyone at Queen of Peace School, I want to wish all families a Blessed and Happy Easter!
As we near the completion of our journey through Lent and to Easter, we invite your participation in the Student Council Food Drive and Catholic Relief Services Rice Bowl project.
Lenten projects: Prayer, Fasting, and Almsgiving
Student Council Food Drive: Please send non-perishable food items to school, now through next Tuesday, April 18th. Our students collected 121.8 lbs. of food at Thanksgiving holiday time. The goal this time is to collect 130 lbs. of food for the needy!
We plan to bring the food over to the local Carlton County food shelf at the Salvation Army store in Cloquet on the Tuesday after Easter.
The Food Shelf serves approximately 50 families each day, and serves over 700 families each year. Thank you to all school and parish families for donating food for our neighbors in need.
There are collection boxes located near the school entry doors.
CRS Rice Bowl collection continues: Through Catholic Relief Services, we encounter our brothers and sisters most in need around the world. 75% of Rice Bowl donation supports programs around the world, such as help for children in need of food in Africa. 25% of your donation helps ease hunger and poverty here in our own diocese. Rice Bowl collections continue through Lent and until Easter. Please collect small change and bills to help. Students are asked to bring their filled rice bowls back to school on Tuesday April 18th, after Easter break. We will combine all the donations and send a check to Catholic Relief Services for the total.
The Pasties Sale has completed. We expect the orders to arrive in early May. Thank you to all who helped and all those who purchased pasties!
Congratulations to our Destination Imagination teams!
