Parent Letter 09-05-2017

Dear Queen of Peace School Parents,

The teachers and I are looking forward to the return of students for the start of classes tomorrow, Wednesday September 6th.

It will be wonderful to see them and hear their voices in the halls. We are ready for another year of learning about God and our world!

Just a couple of quick reminders:

Uniforms
Students in Kindergarten through 6th Grade are required to wear uniforms, including black shoes. Alternate appropriate shoes may be worn during Phy Ed class.
Please see the school Dress Code page to help answer any questions.
One question has come up regarding the T-shirts on the new order form. The T-shirts can be worn in Phy Ed class, but are not for the rest of the school day.
The new Queen of Peace School hooded red sweatshirts are allowed as part of the school uniform. However, a uniform “regulation” collared shirt must be worn under them.

Daily start and Dismissal times
The school Door #2 will open at 7:40 a.m. Students should report to the cafeteria, which will be supervised by a teacher, and wait there until the 8:00 a.m. bell rings and calls them to class. The class day begins at 8:05 a.m. Students arriving after 8:05 a.m. will be marked as tardy.
School dismissal time is normally 3:05 p.m., with the exception of it being 2:35 on Wednesdays.

With the change in location of the district Middle School, bus schedules are changing a bit. We have been asked to excuse those students that need to ride a bus in the afternoon a couple of minutes prior to 3:05/2:35 p.m. We will necessarily work through some adjustments, as the schedules become more regular.

Best wishes for God’s blessings to all!
Bill Van Loh
