Parent Letter 11-02-2017

Dear Queen of Peace Families,

Thank you to students and families for bringing food and cash donations as part of our Halloween celebration. We collected 50.2 pounds of non-perishable food items and $15.75 in cash. Annalise, Clare, and I carried two boxes and a bag of food, plus the money, to the local Cloquet Food Shelf.  A photo of our two student helpers is shown below, at the scale in the Food Shelf building.

Thanks to everyone who donated to help Cloquet area families in need!

Thank you to all families for participating in the Marathon fundraiser!

Congratulations to our top three student fundraisers: Ahna B. at $705, Willow S. at $630, and Paige B. at $541. The top earner wins an Apple TV-device and the other two earners each win a $25 Apple iTunes gift card.

Our total amount raised was over $6,300.00 !

Mardi Gras 2018 is February 10th, just about 3 months away. The Mardi Gras Committee needs more members to assist with the planning of this large event. We will soon be starting to meet. The first thing we will be working on is deciding on our large presale raffle items. If you know a business or individual who would be willing to donate a large item or if you would like to join this fun team please contact Norlene at nblesk@yahoo.com or 213-4951.

The MNSAA Accreditation Renewal Site-Team visit – is completed! Our initial feedback report from Sister Sharon, the team chair, was very positive. The MNSAA board will meet in December to process the committee’s report. We should hear from them, officially, at that time.

Every seven years, non-public schools are required to work through a rigorous process of self-study and review, which includes being visited by a site-team from MNSAA (Minnesota Non-Public School Accreditation Association). Last year, we conducted the Self-Study and drafted a new School Strategic Plan.  Thank you, to the families who helped with providing snacks and coffee, and other support for the team. And, special thanks to Mrs. Kalm and all of our wonderful school and parish staff for their extra work in helping to complete this process!
