Parent Letter 11-09-2017

Dear Queen of Peace Families,

Veteran’s Day is celebrated TOMORROW, Friday Nov 10th. Please join us for Mass at 9:30 a.m. followed by treats in the gym… And then, please know that parents, relatives, and friends are invited to stop by a classroom for conversations with students. They will be interested to learn about your service to our country!

***We would like to remind all parents and committee chairs: If you need help with publicity (flyers, Facebook, website) for fundraisers, fun nights, school programs, etc., you can contact John Bleskacek for assistance. His email address is: jwbleskacek@yahoo.com

John also takes care of updates to our school website and Facebook page. We definitely thank him for his wonderful “behind the scenes” support!

A new detective story “My Right Boot”:

We are missing a snow Boot, for the right foot of one of our 1st Graders! His poor foot must be SO COLD. Please keep an eye out for a Kamik Size 3, black boot with red felt lining. The letters “Lee” are written on the white tag inside. It appears someone has left a Size 2 boot in its place, but it is too small for our owner’s foot. Please call the office or bring in the Size 3 boot, if you find it. Thanks!

Now that winter weather is here: Please send children to school each day with boots, hats, coats, snow-pants, and mittens!

Nordic Spirit Youth Ski League at Spirit Mountain information is attached to this letter. We have had several Queen of Peace students participate in the past, but they have now graduated. If there are a few parents interested in coordinating and driving, please check out the attached info sheets. Ski lessons are scheduled for Sunday afternoons for six weeks, starting January 7th through February 11th. Age categories are grouped for children in grades K-3 and grades 4-8.

For families whose child(ren) will participate in Destination Imagination:

DI – 2018 Challenge Previews are available at this web address: https://www.destinationimagination.org/challenge-program/2017-18-challenge-previews/

Thank you to all Parents and Volunteers!  The main wreath order is in… However, we can still accept paid orders through TOMORROW Friday November 10th. Our delivery date for wreaths is NEXT THURSDAY, November 16, 2017. Our wreath committee has asked me to let everyone know that we are still in need of more volunteers on delivery day, Thursday Nov 16th. Please sign up to help! Thank you!

Please call the school office, if you have any questions. (218-879-8516)

Mardi Gras 2018 is February 10th, just about 3 months away. The Mardi Gras Committee needs more members to assist with the planning of this large event. We will soon be starting to meet. The first thing we will be working on is deciding on our large presale raffle items. If you know a business or individual who would be willing to donate a large item or if you would like to join this fun team please contact Norlene at nblesk@yahoo.com or 213-4951.
