Parent Letter 11-30-2017

Dear Queen of Peace Families,

We offer our prayers for Mrs. Hagen and Ms. Mathies to both have a quick return to full health!

We have a busy couple of days coming up, starting tomorrow:

Friday Dec 1         QP School – IN SESSION – No Bus nor Hot Lunch

*** Lunch tickets will be sold before school starts, as usual. Karen is coming over on her own time.  🙂

Friday  Dec  1st – 5 pm–7 pm Home for Holidays Spaghetti Dinner w/Santa

— plus Crafts & Bake Sale (see additional info below by “Santa”)

Saturday Dec 2 Home for Holidays Parade at 5:00 pm – Please come and participate!

Thank you for wearing your Queen of Peace stocking cap, if you have one.

Parade LINE-UP begins a little after 4:00 pm in front of Sappi, between 14th and 22nd St.

We will be assigned a unit number upon arriving that evening.

REMINDER: School clothing/apparel orders are due on Monday, December 4th. This is the last opportunity before Christmas!  A copy of the order form is attached.

We have a few QP stocking caps on hand for immediate purchase, such as for the parade on Saturday, and the predicted cold temperatures later next week.

*** Dinner with Santa is less than ONE day away!   Please come and help on Friday morning! Baked goods and/or homemade crafts to sell at the event can be dropped off, tomorrow morning, December 1st, after dropping off children at school. We greatly appreciate your contribution!! If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me!

Also: If you want your son or daughter to be part of the “group sing”, it is planned to occur at about 6:00 pm.

Please come for fun, and fellowship, and to help!

Thank you!

Thank you again to all of our Queen of Peace families for helping make the Thanksgiving Food Drive a wonderful success!

This year, we collected 205 lbs. of food! Wow, what a blessing!

Thank you to all of our school families for your help in providing food for those in need in the community.

Photos can be found on our school Facebook page.

An information sheet about the Spirit Mountain Snow/Ski Club is attached. The program is for 3rd through 6th graders. Our school has participated in the program for the past few years. The children of the parent who had coordinated Ski Club have graduated.

We are looking to see who is interested in the Ski Club and parents available to drive as a back-up, or dependent on numbers of participants. There needs to be at least 1 advisor/chaperone with the group. Previously, we have used Wednesdays as our ski day and this seemed to work well with early release, the 3:15 or 3:45 are most likely the times we would use. Please contact Norlene Bleskacek at or 218-213-4951 by Dec. 7th, if your child is interested or you have questions.

We have the Wreath Sale financial results:

Total wreaths sold: 1,179

Total funds collected:             $26,272.00

Total cost:                              -$14,760.20

Fundraiser Profit:        $11,511.80

This makes a very good contribution toward balancing our school budget.

Thank you to everyone for helping!
