Destination Imagination (DI) is a hands-on educational experience intended to empower children to problem solve on their own without much, if any, aid. Kindergarten through 7th grade can participate. If time commitment is concerned, you can expect to spend 1-1.5 hours per week on the project plus some homework, and some Saturdays dedicated to building your design.

We are very excited to announce the launch of a brand new Improv. Club at our school. This club will be led by Mr. Brekke with assistance from Mrs. Gatica. The Mighty Stars Improv. Club will begin on Tuesday, January 25th and meet every Tuesday after school from 3:20 – 4:20.
What is Improv.? : Improvisation, or improv, is a form of acting in which the plot, characters and dialogue of a game, scene or story are made up in the moment. Often improvisers will take a suggestion from the audience, or draw on some other source of inspiration to get started. Improv. is unique in that if you see a performance, that’s it…there will never be another show exactly like it ever done again. Improv is different every time.
Why Improv.? : Learning how to improvise will help students learn and grow in
teamwork, problem solving, grow in confidence, have a creative outlet, grow in flexibility, improve listening and focus skills, meet various speech standards, and offers a great entryway into Destination Imagination which has a strong history in our school.
When/Where? : The Mighty Stars Improv. Club will begin on Tuesday, January 25th and meet every Tuesday after school from 3:20 – 4:20.
Who Can Join? : The Improv. Club is highly recommended for 3rd grade through 8th grade. However, younger students are certainly allowed to join upon special request and approval from Mr. Brekke and Mrs. Gatica.
***If your student is interested in joining The Mighty Stars Improv. Club, please let Ms. Amy Kunze, Mr. Brekke, or Mrs. Gatica know so that we can prepare for the club properly.
Thank you!
